Generator Service Supervisor / Coordinator – Power Generation
American Diesel Outfitters LLC® is seeking an experienced Generator Service Supervisor / Coordinator to lead daily operations within our power generation service department.
This leadership role supports technicians responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel and natural gas standby power generation systems. The supervisor ensures high-quality service delivery, efficient workflow management, and exceptional customer support across both shop and field environments.
Operational Leadership
- Daily Supervision: Oversee all day-to-day service department operations.
- Workload Management: Assign and coordinate work among generator service technicians.
- Technical Support: Assist technicians with complex diagnostics and repair strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Review service jobs to ensure repairs meet safety, quality, and manufacturer standards.
- Resource Management: Maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure availability of tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Operational Efficiency: Monitor workflow, labor hours, and service productivity.
- Financial Oversight: Support cost control, shop profitability, and service department margins.
Customer & Warranty Support
- Partner with Service Advisors to resolve complex customer concerns.
- Assist with warranty documentation and manufacturer claims.
- Evaluate repair needs and determine service scope and estimated cost.
- Maintain strong relationships with commercial, industrial, and critical infrastructure clients.
Team Development & Management
- Establish performance expectations for generator service technicians.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and technical guidance.
- Support recruitment and hiring of skilled power generation technicians.
- Promote workplace safety, professionalism, and continuous technical development.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–7 years of generator service, diesel engine, or heavy equipment industry experience.
- Previous supervisory or service management experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Experience working with standby generator systems and power generation equipment.
- Familiarity with diesel engines, alternators, switchgear, and generator control systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Comfortable using diagnostic software and portable service tools.
Working Conditions
Work may be performed in both office and shop environments. The service department may include heavy equipment, running engines, and variable temperatures typical of mechanical repair facilities.
