Power Generation Service Supervisor

American Diesel Outfitters LLC® is currently seeking a Power Generation Service Supervisor to fill an outstanding opportunity with one of our premier clients. This role offers the chance to lead critical power operations while working with advanced generator systems in a high-impact environment.This role is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily operations of the power generation service team. This role provides direct supervision of Service Technicians, ensures efficient scheduling and execution of generator maintenance and repair work, and supports safe, high-quality service delivery while meeting customer expectations and business performance goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the power generation service department, including field and shop-based activities.
  • Assign, schedule, and balance Service Technician workloads based on skill level, job priority, and customer requirements.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and technical support to Service Technicians performing generator maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Monitor labor utilization, job costs, and departmental expenses to support profitability and margin objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels, tools, parts, and materials are available to complete service assignments efficiently.
  • Review work orders in progress and completed jobs to verify scope, quality, and safety standards are met.
  • Promote and enforce a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Service Advisors and management in resolving customer concerns, service issues, and technical questions.
  • Establish performance expectations and evaluate Service Technician productivity, quality, and compliance.
  • Support warranty-related service activities, including documentation and authorization when applicable.
  • Assess service repair needs, define scope of work, and assist with cost estimates as required.
  • Recruit, train, coach, discipline, and, when necessary, terminate Service Technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead, organize, and supervise technical teams in a service-oriented environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to address operational and technical challenges.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for interaction with technicians, customers, and leadership.
  • Customer-focused mindset while consistently following company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals across diverse backgrounds and job functions.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required, with 3–7 years of experience in power generation, diesel engines, or related service operations.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or lead technician experience required.
  • Previous experience in generator service, field service, or power systems environments required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to use laptop computers, diagnostic software, and portable diagnostic tools.
