Health, Safety & Environmental Manager (HSE)

American Diesel Outfitters LLC® is recruiting a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager for a high-impact role on our client’s team. This position offers the opportunity to lead safety culture, drive compliance initiatives, and influence operational excellence at scale. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and enforcing a comprehensive workplace safety and health program. The position ensures regulatory compliance, promotes employee awareness, and supports a proactive safety culture across operations. Key functions include training oversight, hazard identification, incident investigation, industrial hygiene, emergency response coordination, and collaboration with internal teams and external safety partners.

Travel Requirement: Approximately 50%–75%

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and communicate safety policies, procedures, and standards to protect employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors.
  • Lead and administer safety programs including training, medical surveillance, job hazard analysis, compliance audits, industrial hygiene, and incident response.
  • Advise and support Safety Committees and actively participate in safety leadership initiatives.
  • Oversee Emergency Response Team (ERT) operations, including medical preparedness and response protocols.
  • Establish and manage vendor relationships related to safety, health, and medical services and equipment.
  • Review work instructions and operational procedures to ensure safety controls and regulatory requirements are incorporated.
  • Conduct routine and special safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across facilities and job sites.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Medical Review Officers on employment physicals, drug screening, and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
  • Plan, deliver, and monitor all safety-related training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations and remain current on regulatory changes.
  • Manage response to workplace injuries and illnesses, including first response, medical coordination, and documentation.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze safety data, inspection findings, and environmental testing results to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain professional relationships with regulatory agencies, auditors, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support Human Resources initiatives related to safety, compliance, and employee well-being.
  • Maintain accurate OSHA, ISO, and environmental records, including hazardous waste management documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution and/or 4–10 years of directly related safety and environmental experience.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate policies and reports.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for training, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven ability to establish objectives and drive initiatives to measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making abilities.

Skills & Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Certifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or comparable safety certification preferred.

Regulatory Knowledge & Additional Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
  • Understanding of NIOSH and ANSI standards.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
