Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager – Safety Manager Job

American Diesel Outfitters LLC® is actively recruiting a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager for a high-impact role on our client’s team. This position offers the opportunity to lead safety culture, drive compliance initiatives, and influence operational excellence across industrial operations. The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and enforcing a comprehensive workplace safety and health program, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting employee awareness, and fostering a proactive safety culture.

Travel Requirement: Approximately 50%–75%

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and communicate safety policies and procedures to protect employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors.
  • Lead safety programs including training, medical surveillance, job hazard analysis, compliance audits, industrial hygiene, and incident response.
  • Support Safety Committees and participate in safety leadership initiatives.
  • Oversee Emergency Response Team (ERT) operations and medical preparedness protocols.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to safety, health, and medical services and equipment.
  • Review work instructions to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct routine and special audits, inspections, and risk assessments across facilities and job sites.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Medical Review Officers on employment physicals, drug screening, and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
  • Plan, deliver, and monitor all safety-related training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Manage workplace injuries and illnesses, including first response, medical coordination, and documentation.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze safety data and inspection findings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, auditors, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support HR initiatives related to employee well-being, safety, and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate OSHA, ISO, and environmental records, including hazardous waste documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4–10 years of directly related HSE experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for policies, training, and leadership.
  • Proven ability to establish objectives and drive initiatives to measurable outcomes.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills in safety and operational matters.

Skills & Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office applications.

Certifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent preferred.

Regulatory Knowledge & Additional Requirements

  • Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926 standards.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and ANSI/NIOSH standards.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety & environmental laws.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency preferred.
