Potential Compensation Envelope & Competency Framework
Published Range: $80,000 to $140,000 annually, structured around proven technical competency, diagnostic mastery, and field leadership:
Tech II: Senior Generator Tech
$80,000 – $110,000 / yr
Independent diagnostician managing complex engine/electrical faults, automatic transfer systems, digital voltage regulators, basic paralleling operations, and remote technical support for field operations.
Tech III: Master / Critical Power Specialist
$110,000 – $140,000 / yr
Senior technical authority with advanced mastery in multi-unit generator paralleling, synchronization, load sharing, complex digital controllers, start-up commissioning, and critical power system integration.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and overhaul diesel engines, electrical ends, and digital governor systems.
- Commission, synchronize, and balance multi-unit generator paralleling configurations for broadcast and studio events.
- Provide real-time remote technical direction and troubleshooting guidance to field operators and event technicians.
- Perform root-cause diagnostics on complex electrical, digital voltage regulation, and electronic controller faults.
- Support commercial delivery trucks and OTR diesel support fleet maintenance as required.
- Participate in regular on-site shop hours with scheduled rotating on-call support and occasional overnight field travel.
- Perform precision fabrication, equipment modifications, and load-bank validation testing.
Candidate Qualifications & Technical Requirements
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in power generation, critical power management, or industrial diesel systems.
- Advanced proficiency in reading complex electrical schematics, one-line drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong working knowledge of digital controllers, paralleling switchgear, and remote telemetry systems.
- Ability to remain calm, analytical, and decisive in time-sensitive, high-stakes production environments.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (Class A or B CDL Required).
- DOT requirements, drug screening and employment/safety verification.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel extensively.
- Customer-facing responsibilities while working independently at event sites.
- EGSA Certification, OEM factory generator credentials, or heavy diesel truck experience highly valued.
