Engineer — Systems & Design Development

American Diesel Outfitters is seeking a technically driven Engineer to support design development, system validation, testing, and cross-functional engineering initiatives. This role combines analytical engineering work, applied design support, and real-world testing engagement across multiple project environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review technical specifications, design criteria, and project requirements
  • Develop and revise engineering designs to meet specifications and standards
  • Evaluate dimensional accuracy, functional performance, and system compatibility
  • Present and explain technical designs to internal teams and external partners
  • Maintain engineering documentation and design records
  • Provide technical data to support cross-functional departments
  • Prepare design schedules, cost estimates, and project updates
  • Travel to test sites and supplier facilities for technical support
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers
  • Model engineering problems using analytical and simulation tools
  • Assess load conditions, durability limits, and structural performance
  • Analyze and organize engineering data for reporting and reference
  • Produce detailed technical reports and analysis summaries
  • Support calculations and parameter development
  • Perform safety, reliability, and maintainability evaluations
  • Design and document testing protocols and verification methods
  • Develop test plans, objectives, and final reports
  • Oversee test setups, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
  • Execute and analyze engineering tests
  • Provide field testing technical support
  • Mentor junior engineering staff when applicable
  • Stay current with evolving engineering technologies

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3–7 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in C, C++, or C#
  • Windows application development experience
  • Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design experience
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, procurement, or fulfillment operations

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint proficiency
